DETROIT (AP) — A new, $43 million pediatric facility is operating in Detroit.
The five-story Children's Hospital of Michigan Specialty Center offers general pediatrics, pediatric specialties, dialysis, rehabilitation and other services.
A grand opening was held Tuesday at the center, which is across from Children's Hospital.
The building is part of the Detroit Medical Center and is the first new construction completed under an $850 million investment by Vanguard Health Systems
The for-profit, Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard took over the eight-hospital Detroit Medical Center in 2011. Terms of the deal included Vanguard making the capital improvements during the next five years.
