Mumbai: Ailing Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Saturday after his health condition worsened. According to exclusive information available to Mail Today, both kidneys of the 69-year-old actor have been severely affected. Unconfirmed sources in the hospital said Khanna is on dialysis.

The actor's family has refrained from divulging details about his ailment ever since he was hospitalised for a few days in April this year.

On Saturday even as doctors refused to officially reveal specifics, the actor's elder daughter Twinkle Khanna told a section of the press that he was recovering, although it was not clear when he would be discharged. His estranged wife Dimple Kapadia told agencies that he was "exhausted and a little weak".

Sources at the hospital, however, revealed the problem was related to his kidneys. "Rajeshji is suffering from kidney failure and has been undergoing dialysis three times a week. The problem has led to a few other mild complications. He has been complaining of uneasiness," said a closely-placed source at Lilavati.
